The European FP7-funded Blue Mining project is developing “breakthrough solutions for sustainable deep sea mining” since 2014. Activities are ranging from actual cruises applying innovative exploration techniques to the demonstration of small-scale mining technology.
Findings are going to be presented in a final workshop on 10 October 2017 in Aachen.
The aim of the workshop is to engage with other research projects and relevant stakeholders. We want to develop recommendations on how we can achieve sustainable deep-sea mining. Key notes and discussions will cover both socio-economic and technological challenges.
